A Verint Systems Case Study
The Port of Galveston, an 850-acre Gulf Coast facility handling diverse cargo and more than 370,000 cruise passengers annually, faced increasingly stringent security requirements across a sprawling, hard-to-wire campus. Port leadership needed a way to monitor container terminals, passenger areas and perimeter access effectively and economically while improving threat detection and response.
The port deployed a Verint Networked Video Solution that combined wired and wireless video-over-IP, advanced analytics, centralized management and infrared integration to monitor multiple locations from a single operations center. The system enabled 24/7 detection and alerts, optimized camera placement for cost-efficiency, improved response times, and strengthened perimeter and facility security while reducing the complexity and expense of cabling.
