Hearing First - Customer Case Study

Hearing First, a subsidiary of the Oberkotter Foundation, sought to launch an online Community of Practice for listening and spoken language (LSL) professionals to better support children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Although they had a clear vision and strategy, they faced major implementation challenges: no dedicated community manager or training materials, a complex Telligent/Sitecore platform, uncertain onboarding and invitation tactics, weak KPI processes, and plans to later roll out a family-focused community.

FeverBee conducted an audit, refined the strategy, recruited a full‑time community manager, guided platform configuration and onboarding, and helped recruit founding members at a major conference. Within two months the community grew to 447 members across 12 countries and 45 US states, with strong engagement (76% participation on new threads; early cohort metrics showed 25%+ account creation and 50% active participation), platform optimizations, high member optimism (99% hopeful), and an ongoing consultancy partnership.
