A Verint Systems Case Study
Eastman Chemical Company, a Fortune 500 maker of chemicals, fibers and plastics used in everyday products, faced limitations with a legacy CCTV/DVR surveillance system that was cumbersome to maintain, did not scale well (often requiring a DVR per camera), and could not support the megapixel imaging needed for DHS CFATS compliance. The company required a more powerful, reliable and scalable physical security solution across its headquarters and manufacturing sites to improve perimeter views, incident response and regulatory compliance.
Eastman deployed Verint Enterprise Video Management software with EMC CLARiiON networked storage, enabling continuous IP video recording, centralized archiving, analytics and remote viewing while allowing existing analog equipment to remain in service until end-of-life. The solution simplified expansion (adding cameras by IP), centralized and virtualized operations to reduce capital and maintenance costs, sped investigations and information sharing with law enforcement (contributing to arrests), and delivered a stable, scalable security platform backed by vendor support.
