A Verint Systems Case Study
Eastern Michigan University (EMU), a public university in Ypsilanti with more than 23,500 students across an 800‑acre campus and 122 buildings, needed to modernize campus security to improve response times and situational awareness. With a geographically dispersed environment and a small police force, the university sought a more efficient, automated way to detect and investigate incidents beyond its initial limited analog surveillance.
EMU upgraded its long‑standing Verint solution to Verint Enterprise Video Management Software and deployed up to 375 Verint IP cameras, fully integrated with mapping and dispatcher tools. The system enabled real‑time tracking and faster forensic investigations, increased on‑campus arrests, delivered clear ROI, and transformed threat detection from a manual to an automated, widely used capability across the department.
