Lotus Clinical Research Speeds Study Startup by 67% with Veeva Clinical Suite

Lotus Clinical Research, founded in 2001 as a clinical research site and later expanded into a CRO, needed a scalable, modern technology strategy to handle growing sponsor demand. The company struggled with slow study startups, a clunky eTMF, and EDC build and change processes that became a bottleneck as workloads increased and one person could no longer manage all programs.

Lotus implemented Veeva Vault eTMF and CTMS, then Vault CDMS (including Vault EDC, Coder, and the Studio design environment), enabling out-of-the-box integration and allowing data managers to build studies directly. As a result, EDC setups now take two to three weeks (down from eight to nine), overall study startup time fell by 67% to about four weeks, EDC changes are nine times faster, setup times reduced up to 75%, and the company scaled operations while passing an FDA audit with zero findings.
