A Veeva Systems Case Study
Cara Therapeutics, a clinical‑stage biopharmaceutical developing peripherally acting kappa opioid agonists for pruritus and pain, needed technology to meet tight timelines, complex adaptive protocols, frequent mid‑study changes, and the operational challenge of outsourcing to multiple CROs that used different EDCs—leading to slow study builds, inconsistent CRFs, and delays accessing trial data.
By adopting Veeva Vault CDMS (Vault EDC) and a productized integration with Suvoda IRT, Cara standardized CRFs across CROs, gained real‑time access and flexible operational reporting, and supported complex stratified randomization and mid‑study adaptations. The result was build times cut by more than 50%, rapid post‑production changes with no migrations, reduced data errors, streamlined workflows across multiple CROs, and faster, more predictable trials.
