Overstock, the leading online discount store, turned to Validity’s Return Path Platinum service after poor email deliverability was hurting revenue. With average inbox placement around 88 percent and some missing rates reaching 13 percent, Overstock needed to improve inbox placement before the busy holiday season.

Validity’s Return Path consultants diagnosed the issue at Yahoo, where spam-related filtering was causing messages to miss the inbox, and recommended reducing the number of messages per connection and concurrent messages. After implementing the changes, Overstock restored Yahoo deliverability from 92 percent back to 100 percent overnight, and overall inbox placement rose to an average of 98 percent, often reaching 100 percent at key domains.
