Akamai builds trust in its CRM by cleaning data 300x faster

Akamai Technologies was struggling with a more-than-10-year-old Salesforce instance riddled with duplicate records that undermined sales team trust and caused duplicated work; the team was spending hours each day manually verifying, updating, and merging records. To solve this, Akamai turned to Validity and its DemandTools data quality platform.

Validity implemented DemandTools’ duplicate management, data standardization and import-management capabilities (including Single Table Dedupe, DupeBlocker, MassEffect and PowerGrid), enabling automated bulk hygiene and repeatable processes. As a result, cleanup capacity jumped from 200–300 accounts per month to about 20,000 accounts per week, Salesforce clean-account rate rose from 60% to 90%, and Akamai repurposed one full-time role—driving greater sales focus and trust in the CRM thanks to Validity.
