METRO introduces group-wide IT asset management

METRO AG, the wholesale group, needed a complete view of its IT assets across the company, including hardware, software, user, and license data, so it could improve software usage, assess risks, and become more efficient. To address this, METRO worked with USU Solutions and used USU Software Asset Management as the basis for a central IT asset management approach.

USU Solutions implemented Discovery and License Management, integrating data from multiple source systems and major vendors such as Microsoft, SAP, and Oracle. The result was more than 60 customized dashboard reports covering hardware and software inventory, compliance, and license balances across over 30 countries and more than 100,000 devices, reducing manual effort and helping METRO significantly cut software costs.
