Build it and they will come How IS Decisions Moves Beyond Social Media to Create an Invested User Base

IS Decisions, a Biarritz-based SMB specializing in Windows infrastructure and security (notably UserLock, with over 1 million licenses and 3,000 customers including the FBI and the UN), found that social media alone wasn’t enough to build a truly engaged user community. The company needed a branded space to capture bug reports, suggestions and feature ideas, keep track of feedback, and create deeper relationships with both customers and prospects.

They chose UserVoice to host a branded community integrated into the product for the FileAudit 4 beta, using single sign‑on, voting, and a customized interface plus embedded video tutorials and KB search. The result was their most successful beta: richer, more frequent feedback than email, collaborative idea voting, 60–70% tutorial engagement, many customer suggestions incorporated into releases, and a repeatable model now being applied to other betas and roadmap discussions.
