Krikey, an augmented reality gaming app, faced the challenge of optimizing its app and Google Play Store listing for its rapidly growing user base in India. The co-founders needed to see both users' screens and faces to understand their AR experience and gather feedback in multiple languages. To overcome this, they turned to UserTesting to gain direct insight into how Indian users felt about their product.
By using UserTesting, the Krikey team received immediate feedback that led them to rewrite product descriptions, use more engaging imagery, and even refer to the app as "3D" instead of "AR" based on user preference. This resulted in their install conversion rate rising from 5% to over 40% and their account creation rate increasing from 39% to 50% within six months. UserTesting provided the direct line to customer perspectives that contributed to Krikey surpassing one million downloads.
