A UserTesting Case Study

How Pearson K-12 Virtual Schools adapted their learning platform to better serve an influx of new teachers and learners

Pearson K–12 Virtual Schools, part of global learning company Pearson, faced a sudden 43% surge in enrollments in 2020–21 that brought a large influx of new students and instructors. When a newly launched calendar and detailed to‑do lists risked overwhelming educators and remote learners, Pearson turned to UserTesting to quickly surface usability problems and prioritize improvements.

Using feedback from UserTesting contributors, Pearson simplified the interface by hiding minute lesson details behind expandable views and made pre‑recorded student‑led lessons more concise and emotionally clear. The platform became sharper and more engaging, teachers found it easier to customize instruction, parental and teacher satisfaction increased, and Pearson continues to partner with UserTesting as it scales its award‑winning virtual learning experience.
