How Krikey quickly reached one million downloads of their AR gaming app

Krikey is a small Augmented Reality gaming app co-founded by sisters Jhanvi and Ketaki Shriram that reached major scale after early partnerships and $20M+ in funding. Facing rapid growth in India, the team needed clear, multilingual user feedback that showed both the device screen and players’ reactions to optimize the AR experience across diverse Android devices and languages.

Using UserTesting, Krikey ran frequent tests—starting with their Google Play Store page—to refine wording, visuals, and gameplay (including switching to “3D” language, featuring a main character breaking the phone frame, adding mini‑games, and sending download codes via WhatsApp). Those changes drove install conversion from ~5% to 40%+, increased account creation from 39% to 50%, and helped Krikey surpass one million users.
