How Helix used human insights to improve their enrollment process and drive expansion of their digital experience to multiple health systems

Helix worked with UserTesting to better understand how to improve positive perceptions at the earliest touchpoints of its community health and genetic screening enrollment funnels. The team needed insights from diverse racial and ethnic audiences to ensure historically marginalized populations were represented in the design of its messaging, product experience, and precision healthcare journey.

Using UserTesting, Helix ran mixed-method UX research with Figma prototype tests, click tests, and attitudinal surveys to evaluate invitations, landing pages, and enrollment content. The findings led Helix to emphasize that the program is free, keep users engaged longer, and rewrite privacy and FAQ language in clearer, more accessible terms; the insights were also turned into best-practice materials for partner health systems and helped shape enrollment optimization.
