How Cedar better serves healthcare leaders and patients during COVID-19

Cedar is a healthcare financial engagement platform that modernizes medical billing and patient communications. When COVID-19 hit, the New York–based company and its provider customers rapidly shifted to remote work and faced new patient challenges around affordability, payment flexibility, and communication; Cedar needed to learn patients’ changing needs quickly while conserving design resources and respecting social-distancing constraints.

Using UserTesting’s COVID-19 templates, Cedar ran remote interviews, surveys, and video sessions to streamline data collection and build trust with patients in their homes. The team produced highlight reels and insights that saved time, improved the customer experience, and created a clear roadmap for product enhancements—many of which are now focused on affordability, payment options, and better provider communication.
