A UserTesting Case Study
CaringBridge is a nonprofit personal health journal and app that helps families and friends stay connected during health journeys. Facing usability issues across its iOS and Android apps and responsive website—especially around navigation, menu labeling, task discoverability, and authentication for an older user base—the team partnered with UserTesting OneWorld to validate designs and uncover quick, actionable UX fixes before development.
Through prototype and live-build testing, card sorting, A/B preference studies, and focused task sessions, CaringBridge clarified comment affordances, redesigned site navigation with a labeled task bar, smoothed authentication flows, and refined UI components. The changes drove measurable gains: iOS installs +26%, app sessions +25%, App Store rating improved from 2.5 to 4.1 stars, and responsive-site engagement rose about 3%.
