PSEG Long Island faced slipping participation in its Home Performance Direct (HPD) program and risked missing peak electric savings goals, so it sought better ways to identify quality customer opportunities and boost conversions. To address this, PSEG Long Island partnered with Uplight and adopted Uplight’s Online Home Energy Profile powered by Uplight’s Energy Assessment to educate customers, simplify the audit/apply process, and support contractors.
Uplight’s solution automated outreach, enabled targeted re-marketing, and delivered highly qualified leads, helping PSEG Long Island drive a fivefold (500%) year‑over‑year increase in online leads, a 9% increase in average customer dollars saved, and a 61% jump in average megawatt savings per project. In the first nine months of 2014, 30,012 homeowners completed audits producing 6,040 HPD leads; a summer promotion generated 17,253 audits and 4,494 visit requests at a low incremental cost per lead of $2.23 on a $10,000 budget—results achieved using Uplight’s Energy Assessment.
