Square Enix uses ironSource offerwall to increase ARPDAU 5x

Square Enix, the Japan-based gaming company behind WAR OF THE VISIONS FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS, wanted to increase ad revenue beyond what it was already earning from rewarded videos. The team partnered with Unity, using its offerwall product as an additional monetization channel, and needed a way to test it without disrupting users who were mid-offer when the trial ended.

Unity worked with Square Enix to build a framework that let existing offerwall users finish their tasks even after the test period, while preventing new users from starting new offers. The solution added incremental revenue without hurting in-app purchases, doubling overall revenue, increasing ARPDAU in the U.S. on Android by 5x, and delivering maximum eCPM more than 2x the category benchmark.
