Making ports safer with simulation training

HR Wallingford, a marine engineering and simulation specialist, needed to deliver more realistic and flexible port training while reducing the time required to build custom simulators. Using Unity Industry, along with Industry Success support, they set out to upgrade from the built-in render pipeline, integrate real-time wave models, and better tailor simulations for different ports and vessel types.

Unity helped HR Wallingford rapidly improve its simulator training environment by moving to HDRP, enabling real-time updates, and supporting more accurate marine visualization. As a result, HR Wallingford says it made more progress with its Partner Relations Manager than in the previous two years, and it can now create visually realistic, effective training in weeks instead of months for major ports like Harwich Haven Authority.
