Impulse, developed by GMRD Apps Limited, is an educational brain-training app with over 10 million users. As a subscription-led app, the team needed a way to increase LTV from non-paying users and improve monetization performance, so they looked to Unity’s mediation and ad monetization solutions, including in-app bidding and interstitial ads.
Using Unity’s ironSource SDK, Impulse placed interstitial ads at natural break points in the user experience, such as between levels and games, and tested ad frequency to find the right balance. This approach lifted ARPDAU and eCPM to all-time highs and delivered about a 40% increase in LTV versus subscriptions alone, helping Impulse scale its UA efforts more competitively.
