How Among Us connects 500+ million players

InnerSloth, the studio behind *Among Us*, faced a sudden explosion in player growth after the game went viral in 2020. With millions of new users joining across mobile and other platforms, the team struggled with server instability, lobby connection issues, and limited control over in-game ad experiences. Unity helped support the game through its gaming services, including Multiplay and Unity Ads, to address these scaling and UX challenges.

Unity worked closely with InnerSloth to stabilize multiplayer infrastructure, improve ad management, and provide player behavior insights through Unity Analytics. The result was support for up to 60 million peak daily active users, more stable servers, improved user experience, and data-driven content launches. Unity’s partnership helped InnerSloth sustain Among Us’s massive success while continuing to grow the game with new features and content.
