Connecting design and construction with Unity Reflect

SHoP Architects, the New York City-based architecture firm, wanted to make its design and construction process more efficient by reducing reliance on 2D deliverables and improving how BIM data could be used across the office and job site. The team needed a faster way to turn large, frequently changing BIM models into interactive experiences for VR and AR, while keeping geometry and metadata aligned.

Unity helped SHoP Architects with Unity Reflect and Unity Pro, enabling real-time BIM applications for VR and AR that preserve BIM data and update live from Revit. With Unity, SHoP cut model-to-experience creation from days to minutes, improved collaboration and communication, and created tools for immersive design review and job-site QA/QC that could help reduce change orders, construction time, and costs.
