Fujitsu Technology Solutions partnered with Unify to modernize its corporate communications: upgrade OpenScape Voice, migrate voicemail to unified messaging, virtualize the server environment on Fujitsu PRIMERGY blades, and convert systems for more than 10,000 users across 23 locations within a six‑month program and a one‑weekend cutover. The project followed Fujitsu’s PRINCE2 processes and aimed to reduce hardware and operating costs while creating a future‑proof foundation for Unified Communications.

Unify built a centralized OpenScape Voice backbone in Fujitsu’s data center, virtualized communications servers, migrated 10,000 end devices in a single weekend, and deployed OpenScape Xpressions, web clients and mobile integration. The migration was seamless with no user downtime, improved remote collaboration and resilience, simplified administration, and delivered roughly 20% infrastructure cost savings (exceeded in follow‑up analysis).
