A Unboxed Case Study
The customer, University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB), faced challenges with its inefficient and complex service for screening relatives of patients diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The process was time-consuming for patients and healthcare professionals, with data not being captured or shared effectively. UHB engaged Unboxed to utilize its service design and digital expertise to rethink the screening pathway.
Unboxed conducted user research and prototyping to design a new, digitally-enabled community-based service. The solution streamlined the pathway, improved data capture, and proposed a platform to connect different providers. As a result, Unboxed helped UHB develop a strong proposal and evaluation plan, which was used to secure funding from the British Heart Foundation for a pilot program aimed at making the service more accessible and data-driven.
