University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust worked with UiPath to improve care delivery and reduce manual administrative work across its healthcare services in South West England. As the Trust expanded automation efforts, it needed a way to handle repetitive processes more efficiently while keeping patient satisfaction at the center of its operations. UiPath’s automation platform helped the Trust begin in high-volume, manual departments and build a scalable digital assistant program.

UiPath implemented 16 automations that streamlined tasks such as ambulance handover reporting, patient feedback collection, waiting-time updates, and cardiac echo image uploads. The results included £81,500 in savings, 4,368 hours returned to staff, and a projected £3,157,000 in potential savings over five years. The automations also improved patient experience, boosted survey response rates from 4% to three times higher, and gave patients better access to real-time waiting-time information.
