A UiPath Case Study
Trelleborg Municipality’s Department of Welfare faced long manual processing times for welfare-payment decisions—an average of about eight days (up to 20 for new applications) across more than 300 monthly applications—which delayed citizen support and strained staff. To address this, the department worked with Valcon Consultants and implemented the UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform to automate critical welfare support decision processes and improve service delivery.
Using UiPath, a Robot now runs daily to collect online applications, perform required calculations, generate payments for favorable decisions, and surface exceptions for staff. The automation cut processing time per case from 3–17 minutes to one minute or less, reduced overall response time from roughly eight days to within 24 hours, and is expected to shorten overruled-decision handling from 3–7 days to 1–2 days—freeing employees for higher-value work and boosting morale.
