Sonae Arauco, a multinational wood-based panels manufacturer based in Spain, was running a modern shared service center but still found many finance and administrative processes were highly manual and time-consuming. After a chance discovery of automation opportunities, the company worked with UiPath and Deloitte to identify repetitive tasks that could be improved with RPA.

UiPath RPA robots were implemented first in Treasury Management to automate bank account reconciliation and later expanded across the business through a center of excellence. The solution cut a monthly reporting process from four days to one, and by December 2020 Sonae Arauco had deployed 30 robots, automated more than 8,000 hours per year, and saved over €185,000.
