A UiPath Case Study
The University of Auckland, which supports more than 40,000 students and 5,500 staff, faced time-consuming, low‑maturity manual processes that limited service quality and prompted a cost‑saving initiative. Partnering with UiPath to explore robotic process automation (RPA), the university sought to digitize workflows, reduce backlog for staff, and eventually expand RPA into teaching and research.
UiPath helped the university redesign processes, deploy UiPath software robots and orchestration (four unattended robots and 23k orchestration runs), and provide Academic Alliance resources for a new RPA course and youth program. The automation cut supplier setup turnaround from 12 days to 2–4 days, uncovered conflicts of interest missed by humans, freed staff to focus on student services, and supported further intelligent automation (including 96%‑accurate email routing).
