Royal Mail Group, the UK postal and courier company, needed a way to reduce manual work across a vast, distributed operation with 137,000 staff, 50,800 vehicles, and 1,250 delivery offices. UiPath helped Royal Mail address challenges in operations, customer experience, finance, HR, commercial, and fleet by using robotic process automation (RPA) to simplify processes and remove repetitive administration.
Using UiPath software robots, Royal Mail automated tasks such as daily data extraction for delivery managers, agent support in customer service, and account suspension/reinstatement in finance. The program has delivered 85 automated processes, £55 million in savings, 662,000 hours returned to employees, and an ROI more than 300% above expectations, while improving employee efficiency, satisfaction, and customer service.
