Robots help central Norway’s hospitals put patients first

Hemit, the IT department supporting Central Norway’s hospitals, needed a better way to handle growing volumes of manual, disconnected administrative work across healthcare systems. With over 24,000 professionals depending on its services, the team looked to UiPath and its automation software to help improve process management, reduce errors, and free staff to focus more on patient care.

UiPath helped Hemit build an in-house automation program using robots to handle tasks such as updating patient records, moving cloud documents, sending health assessment forms, and supporting testing workflows. The results were significant: 20 robots have handled 4.701 million transactions and the first two automations alone processed 3,510,981 cases, saving 21,499 hours of manual work and performing the work of 73 full-time employees.
