A UiPath Case Study
Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), together with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), sought to boost productivity and operational efficiency across a wide range of banking processes and launched a large-scale RPA initiative in April 2017. To drive that transformation they selected UiPath’s RPA platform, aiming to automate high-volume routine work, support front-office activities, and underpin a broader work-style reform.
UiPath delivered a combined Attended and Unattended automation solution supported by a Center of Excellence and partner network, standardizing development and governance across ~200 operations. The deployment has already delivered over 400,000 annualized hours saved (about 650,000 including in-flight processes), projects cost reductions of roughly $450 million by 2020 and nearly $1 billion medium-term, and targets 1 million hours capacity this fiscal year and more than 3 million hours within three years (equivalent to ~1,500 FTEs).
