OMERS works smarter, accomplishes more, and builds capacity for strategic initiative

OMERS, one of Canada’s leading defined benefit pension plans, wanted to give employees more time for meaningful, value-added work instead of routine manual tasks. To support its digital transformation goals, the organization partnered with UiPath and began using AI-powered automation across finance and other business processes.

UiPath implemented automations using products such as Document Understanding, AI Centre, and Action Centre to handle tasks like accounts receivable bill splitting and T12 corporate income tax processing end to end. The result was more than 80 business processes automated, over 300 employees engaged through roadshows, and 90% of ideas from analysts and senior analysts now being contributed to the automation program, while reducing errors and freeing teams for higher-value work.
