How Tarsus Distribution Went From RPA Naysayers to RPA Evangelists

Tarsus Distribution, the longest-standing IT distributor in Southern Africa supporting brands like HP and Lenovo, faced a critical staffing shortfall on its shipping team after losing four employees, which left staff overwhelmed with manual invoice data entry. Working with implementation partner Xpertek, Tarsus turned to UiPath and the UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform to pilot Robotic Process Automation for vendor invoice data capture and ERP data entry.

UiPath-deployed software robots (Betsy, Betsy 2/3/4) automated invoice capture and ERP input; after resolving initial invoice-format exceptions the bots stabilized and processed large volumes—preparing roughly 1,400 holiday shipments that would have taken staff more than a week to handle manually—while improving accuracy and compliance by flagging an invoice that could have triggered a costly revenue-services audit. Tarsus is expanding automation with Xpertek and UiPath and plans to establish a Robotic Operations Center to scale these gains.
