MHA, an independent accounting firm in the UK, wanted to reduce the heavy administrative burden tied to tax returns, payroll, governance, and reporting so its accountants could spend more time advising clients. Working with UiPath and its partner FD Intelligence, MHA saw an opportunity to apply intelligent automation to repetitive, high-volume tax work.

UiPath helped MHA implement a personal tax robot using OCR and AI to extract data from client forms and emails and prefill tax returns for accountant review. The solution completed 5,000 tax returns on time in its first year, improved accuracy, and saved up to three hours per return; MHA expects it to save 45,000 work hours annually when rolled out across all offices. The firm has since expanded to four robots and is planning more automations to support tax, audit, onboarding, and internal processes.
