How citizen developers power up Wesco's automation program

WESCO International, a global supply chain solutions provider, wanted to scale automation beyond a traditional center of excellence and reach more parts of the business. Working with UiPath, the company looked for a way to expand its Intelligent Automation program while addressing concerns around governance, security, and maintaining quality across citizen-developed automations.

UiPath helped WESCO build a governed citizen developer program using UiPath Automation Hub, UiPath Studio, and UiPath Academy, with business, IT, and CoE preapproval of ideas. The approach has grown to 200+ trained citizen developers, with citizen-led automations contributing around 60% of approved ideas and helping deliver more than 100,000 hours of annual savings; citizen developers also created 100+ microbots that won an ISM Trailblazer award for WESCO.
