How BAT Uses UiPath’s Software Robots to Produce Quickly and With Quality

British American Tobacco (BAT), a global manufacturer operating in 180 markets, needed a way to improve the speed and accuracy of production and financial recording across its standardized factory operations. Working with UiPath and its automation platform, BAT looked to reduce delays, improve quality control, and handle repetitive SAP-based processes more reliably while supporting a broader digital transformation.

UiPath helped BAT implement software robots to automate leaf stock acquisition, recipe and materials cost updates, and Bill of Materials data transfer across SAP systems. The result was stronger accuracy, better governance, and major efficiency gains: BAT reported 79 live robots over four years, more than 230,000 labor-hours saved, and zero errors since RPA was implemented.
