Getting the RPA foundations right leads to quick results—and customer benefits

Water Plus, the UK’s largest water retailer, needed a better way to handle complex, data-heavy processes such as customer onboarding, billing, meter updates, and transferring information from previous suppliers. As the business grew, it looked to UiPath and robotic process automation (RPA) to improve efficiency, reduce backlogs, and support agents in delivering better customer service.

UiPath helped Water Plus build a stronger automation foundation with modular software robots and governance-led RPA practices. The program grew from 2 inherited automations to 13 automated processes by the end of 2021, run by 21 software robots that processed 567,000 transactions in 2021. The result was improved operational efficiency, faster processing, and more time for staff to focus on higher-value work.
