Foodstuffs RPA Gave Employees Their Lives Back – No Working Weekends Or Unreasonable Hours

Foodstuffs, New Zealand’s largest grocery distributor and a major co-operative, needed a better way to handle repetitive SAP-based work across its 350+ stores. To reduce manual effort and support its employees, Foodstuffs chose UiPath for robotic process automation (RPA), starting with simple processes like loading bank statements and other routine store operations.

Using UiPath robots and UiPath Orchestrator, Foodstuffs automated 11 processes across the organization, including bank statement loading, invoice conversations, reporting, and a supply-chain task that previously required weekend and 5 a.m. work. The automation freed up about 9,000 hours between April 2019 and March 2020, impacted 200 stores, improved consistency and reporting speed, and helped give employees back their weekends and more time for higher-value work.
