Federal Bank Partners with UiPath to Meet a Nearly Impossible Compliance Deadline

Federal Bank, a leading private sector bank in India, faced an urgent regulatory requirement to manage and merge unique customer identification codes (UCIC) after rapid ten‑year growth that expanded operations to over 1,250 branches. Meeting the compliance deadline manually could have taken up to a year, so the bank partnered with UiPath and its UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform to explore robotic process automation as a faster, lower‑cost solution.

Using UiPath Robots in a proof‑of‑concept on 10,000 records, Federal Bank automated the UCIC merge—robots processed about 250 records per hour continuously versus employees who could merge 200–300 records in a day—allowing the bank to meet the compliance deadline in six months (50% of the original time estimate) and realize strong ROI. UiPath also reduced BharatQR merchant onboarding from 7 minutes to 1 minute, automated 15 tasks with plans for 53, and helped the bank establish a CoE to scale future automations.
