A UiPath Case Study
Europe's General Care Hospital, a European general care provider with nearly 2,000 employees and over 70,000 emergency and 300,000 outpatient visits annually, struggled to scale operations while maintaining patient care. Heavy reliance on paper records, manual data entry, inefficient macros and labor-intensive processes led to errors, long processing times, inventory waste (20–30% unused supplies) and costly appointment no-shows. To address these challenges the hospital turned to UiPath and robotic process automation (RPA).
UiPath implemented RPA and software robots to automate core back-office functions and digitize patient-facing services, automating roughly 80% of claims and billing and cutting processing costs from $4 to $1 per claim. The UiPath solution also enabled real-time reporting to optimize inventory levels, a unified digital platform for medical histories, billing and scheduling, and automated reminders—resulting in improved appointment turnout, more timely payments and strong patient adoption (over 75% willing to use digital services).
