Efficiency Without Limits, UiPath and EY’s Ambitious RPA Implementation

EY, a global professional services leader with more than 260,000 people, faced widespread SAP usability and data-quality challenges after a platform rollout: occasional users struggled to complete critical CRM and ERP tasks, causing incomplete transactions, higher support needs, and costly training. To solve this at scale, EY engaged UiPath to explore robotic process automation that could simplify the SAP experience without retraining the global workforce.

UiPath implemented attended automation—bots that sit on users’ screens and work alongside them—building and rolling out the solution in about 1.5 years. The UiPath deployment covered 15 core SAP processes and delivered measurable gains: up to 30% faster processing, a 50% reduction in training hours for more than 40,000 employees, roughly 1,000,000 transactions processed, and a global footprint that reached 100,000 attended and 2,000 unattended bots by Q1 2020, freeing staff to focus on revenue-generating work and improving data accuracy.
