Danske Bank expands citizen developer program and intelligent automation

Danske Bank, one of Denmark’s largest banks serving 3.3 million customers across the Nordics and beyond, needed a better way to scale automation beyond its initial back-office RPA efforts. As its intelligent automation program grew, the bank faced the challenge of managing demand for many small automations while keeping governance strong and avoiding shadow IT. UiPath provided the automation platform, including tools like Studio X for citizen developers and support for attended and intelligent automation.

UiPath helped Danske Bank centralize and expand its Center of Excellence, roll out 250 automation solutions, and enable about 50 citizen developers to build simple automations themselves. The program now delivers work equivalent to 300 FTE, with 1.3% of all work automated and a target of 4%, while also improving employee productivity, reducing churn, and speeding up customer-facing tasks from 20–30 minutes to about five minutes.
