Arena Holdings Achieves Speed, Efficiency and Control in Media Circulation with RPA

Arena Holdings, one of Africa’s largest media groups, needed to overhaul its newspaper distribution and subscription operations in 2019 to support higher customer volumes without adding headcount and to implement changes quickly. Working with UiPath partner NorthWind Digital, the company adopted UiPath RPA (the UiPath platform) and a “why not automate?” approach to target repetitive circulation, finance and reconciliation tasks across print and digital distribution.

Using UiPath, NorthWind Digital and Arena automated bank reconciliations, purchase order/invoice matching and other finance workflows, moving from proof-of-concept to production rapidly. The program delivered 35 automations in 14 months: a task that took ~20 hours/day now runs in ~2 minutes, reconciliations headcount dropped from seven to two, and Arena estimates ~33,000 manual hours saved per year (about 16 FTEs avoided), faster morning reporting, and improved revenue and retailer relationships — all enabled by the UiPath platform.
