AM/NS India, India’s fourth-largest steel producer, faced a growing challenge in processing a high volume of vendor invoices across 10.5K+ suppliers. With manual, decentralized workflows handling both physical and digital invoice formats, turnaround times were 7–10 days, accuracy was low, and fewer than 40% of vendor payments were made on time. The company turned to UiPath Document Understanding to help modernize and streamline invoice operations.
UiPath implemented an intelligent automation solution using Document Understanding, AI bots, regular bots, and Cloud Orchestrator to capture, validate, and process invoices end to end, including GST checks and SAP posting. The result was a dramatic reduction in processing time to about 1 day per invoice, saving 6–9 days per invoice, with over 90% accuracy. UiPath also helped AM/NS India process 300,000+ invoices annually while limiting headcount growth and freeing 15–20 staff for higher-value work.
