Acciona's Services Division Achieves Important Time and Cost Savings in HR and Back-Office Operations with RPA

Acciona’s Services Division, a Spanish multinational that manages infrastructure and services worldwide, faced a data‑intensive, time‑consuming HR and back‑office challenge: processing documentation for tens of thousands of temporary workers and contractors strained staff and legacy systems. Seeking a fast, integrable solution with a 1–2 week time‑to‑market, Acciona partnered with PricewaterhouseCoopers and turned to the UiPath RPA platform to pilot automation in HR.

UiPath delivered a PoC that scaled into in‑house development of software robots (with UiPath Orchestrator), automating ~50 processes (30+ in HR) and running 6 unattended plus 1 attended robot. Results included a €100k saving in one pilot, 15 FTEs saved on the sick‑note process, a total impact of 18 FTEs across initiatives, faster handling of ~20,000 temporary contracts (cutting ~15 minutes per contract), and guaranteed accuracy and SLA compliance — all achieved with rapid 1–2 week pilots and staff upskilling via the UiPath community and Academy.
