How Mediq scaled automation across Europe

Mediq, an international healthcare company operating across 14 European countries, needed a better way to scale automation beyond isolated local efforts. In a highly regulated environment, the company wanted a more structured approach to improve efficiency, consistency, compliance, and reuse across markets. UiPath was the automation vendor supporting Mediq’s journey, alongside partner Tacstone Technology.

UiPath helped Mediq establish a group-wide Center of Excellence and deploy automation more systematically, including Document Understanding for high-volume sales order processing in SAP. The solution extracts data from PDFs, validates it with human-in-the-loop controls, and posts accurate orders into core systems. By the end of 2024, Mediq had around 55 automations saving 55,000 hours annually, with Document Understanding reaching 98% accuracy and roughly 35% of 50,000 annual documents processed automatically.
