Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust partnered with UiPath to tackle a time-consuming and error-prone pediatric referral process. Each referral took around 40 minutes to handle manually, creating administrative strain, delays in patient care, and an estimated 10% error rate.
UiPath implemented “Ada,” a digital worker that uses intelligent automation to read incoming GP referrals and extract and enter data into the Trust’s systems. The solution cut processing time to under five minutes per referral, saved about 116 staff hours per month, reduced errors to under 1%, sped up acknowledgments from 48 hours to 12 hours, and is delivering an estimated £16,000 in annual savings.
