The Spanish Basketball Federation pioneers the streaming of women's sport on Twitter with the Dia League

The Spanish Basketball Federation (SeBaloncesto - FEB) aimed to broaden the reach of women’s basketball and engage a younger, wider audience while creating new sponsorship opportunities for clubs and players. In partnership with the Dia League, the Federation faced the challenge of increasing visibility and growing the fan base for women’s competition.

Working with Twitter, FEB streamed a weekly Dia League game on Periscope and executed a promotional plan that combined high-quality live broadcasts with commentators, pre-game organic engagement, and a mix of video content (highlights, recaps, interviews and backstage clips). Across 14 live games this initiative generated 4M impressions and a peak of 1.2M live views, attracting new viewers, growing the digital audience and delivering measurable value to partners and sponsors.
