Doritos UK’s Twitter campaign brings the heat to sell its super-hot snacks

Doritos UK used Twitter to launch Heatburst, a limited-edition line of extra-hot tortilla crisps, and needed to reach 16- to 30-year-olds who are active on the platform and responsive to culture, celebrities, and brand content. To stand out, Doritos created a playful “Baby Dragon” character to personify the new flavor range and spark conversation around the campaign hashtags #HeatWillCome and #BabyDragon.

Twitter helped Doritos UK amplify the campaign through video, GIFs, branded emojis, and conversational content, keeping Baby Dragon visible in trending and pop-culture moments. The result was £3 million in UK sales in the first three months, double-digit value growth across the Doritos UK brand portfolio, and recognition inside PepsiCo UK as “best in class.”
