BetStars, the sports‑betting arm of PokerStars, needed to stand out as a new brand in a crowded market by extending its above‑the‑line “Game Changers” campaign into digital channels and turning Euro 2016 buzz into followers and customers. Working with sports marketing agency SportQuake, the goal was to engage football fans on Twitter and drive acquisition during the tournament.
They used Twitter Conversational Video and targeted audience ads to invite fans to vote for #GameChangers moments, pairing animated clips in shareable tweets that encouraged voting and conversation — votes generated new tweets that amplified reach. The campaign delivered 2.6 million impressions, grew followers by 30% (about 1,250 new followers) and drove 236 new real‑money accounts.
